Our Pastor

For over 23 years, Pastor Bob Tallent has faithfully shepherded the people of Gethsemane Baptist Church with a servant’s heart and a steady devotion to God’s Word. His ministry is rooted in the belief that every soul matters to Christ and that the local church should be a place where people find hope, healing, and a family of faith.

Week after week, Pastor Bob preaches the timeless truth of Scripture in a way that is practical and easy to understand—whether you’ve been in church your whole life or are walking through the doors for the very first time. His heart for the Gospel is matched by his heart for people. He’s just as likely to be found visiting a shut-in, praying with a family in need, or greeting you at the church door as he is preaching from the pulpit.

Our Pastor has witnessed God’s faithfulness in every season of ministry here in Concord. Over the years, he has celebrated with countless couples on their wedding day, rejoiced in the baptistry waters, and stood beside families during life’s most difficult moments—always pointing them back to the hope we have in Christ.

He and his wife Lisa Tallent consider Gethsemane Baptist Church their family and count it a blessing to serve alongside so many faithful members. Together, they look forward to continuing the mission God has given: to glorify Him, reach the lost, and encourage believers to live out their faith every day.
